Amulay Still Working for Punks

While I was away, the Reignlabs team had been disbanded, as noted in the "Amulay Drama Fed 23'" tab. However, Amulay was still working on the Cryt3d Punks project. I had already done my part, and the dev team was supposed to handle the minting and the rest of the process. I wasn’t involved in that aspect during my time away in Delaware, so I had no direct involvement with the Cryt3d Punks mint.

When I returned from my trip on March 21st, 2023, I walked in the door, checked my notifications, and a message from the Cryt3d Punks mod appeared. My heart sank. The mint was live. In that moment, I realized I had missed something critical. Within eight seconds, I understood the magnitude of my mistake. I clicked the link out of panic, and within moments, I knew something was wrong. I immediately posted about the attack to try and alert everyone, and within minutes, I received these messages.

I didn’t know what had happened, and I had no idea how to fix it. All I could do was try to prevent further damage and hope we could somehow recover. It was one of the hardest moments I’ve faced in this entire journey. I hadn’t been in contact with you all during this time, and then this happens. My heart dropped. I felt an overwhelming sense of responsibility, knowing that this could affect everything we had worked so hard to build. It was a crushing realization that I had let the project down when you needed me the most.

It turns out Amulay had clicked a link in Discord that gave the scammers access to the Cryt3d Punks server. The attackers were able to drain over $60,000 from the community, and more than 2,700 NFTs were stolen before they could be banned. I was devastated. In an attempt to mitigate the damage and stop any further access to our server, I changed my passwords everywhere—Discord, Twitter, and more. I logged out of everything, trying to stop the bleeding.

But despite my efforts, I still lost $1,500 from the attack.

JUST TO BE CLEAR: If you tried to message Amulay after March 21st, 2023, on Discord, that was not him.
