Nauts
The Nauts NFTs were created as a last-ditch effort to raise the necessary funds to keep the Moose Society going. As development costs soared, with Amulay constantly asking for more and more money to continue the work, we found ourselves in a difficult position. The original funds allocated for development were quickly depleted, and the mounting expenses left us scrambling to find a solution.
Reginlabs proposed the Nauts collection as a way to generate additional revenue that could be used to fund the development costs and keep the project afloat. The idea was to use the proceeds to support the creation of a staking system that would eventually reward our community members with real-world benefits. However, this decision ended up being a misstep, as it diverted our resources and focus from the core mission of the Moose Society, which was to support the children's hospital and build a thriving community.
The development costs were already out of control, and Amulay’s continuous requests for more funds put us in an unsustainable situation. The creation of the Nauts NFTs was intended to raise the capital needed to keep the Moose Society alive, but it ended up stretching our resources even further. Instead of solving our financial issues, it compounded them, leaving us with an even greater burden to carry.
In hindsight, the focus should have remained on the original mission and we should have found a way to manage the development costs more effectively. The Nauts collection, while well-intentioned, ultimately diverted time, resources, and capital away from what we set out to accomplish with the Moose Society.
The Idea Was Simple
We did not charge any of you for the Nauts NFTs. Not ONE was bought. They were offered for free to our community, with the intention of giving everyone a chance to claim them and be part of the project. The goal was never to make a profit off of the community, but rather to ensure that we could continue developing the Moose Society and provide a future for it.
When the project launched, the idea was simple: if you wanted to, you could sell your Nauts NFTs to recoup some of your funds. While some of you were able to recoup some of your money from the project, the creation of the Nauts was a crucial step in raising the necessary funds to keep the Moose Society alive and progressing. This initiative was never about personal profit; it was all about securing a future for the Herd and ensuring that we could continue building, growing, and fulfilling our mission.
The Nauts NFTs were integral to sustaining the future of the Moose Society. We wanted to give back to those who supported the project from the start, while simultaneously generating the funds needed to fuel the continued development of the project. Our focus remained on securing a lasting foundation for the Herd, and we hoped this effort would provide us with the resources needed to keep pushing forward.
Despite the challenges and the missteps along the way, our core mission never changed: to create something meaningful, lasting, and impactful for everyone involved, and to continue working toward the original goal of supporting the children’s hospital and building a thriving community.
