Sean

Throughout the project, I often sought Sean’s opinions, though, admittedly, they frequently didn’t align with what I wanted to hear at the time. On several occasions, he even advised me to shut the project down. Looking back now, I can see that Sean wasn’t being critical or trying to undermine the effort; he was genuinely trying to help me avoid the difficult situation we find ourselves in now. His perspective was clear-eyed, grounded, and practical, even if I wasn’t always ready to listen.

Sean’s advice to step away wasn’t about making the project look bad or giving up, it was about saving face and minimizing the fallout. He recognized the signs of a failing venture and wanted to protect me from the emotional and financial strain that comes with holding on too long. Reflecting on his guidance now, I can see that his intentions were rooted in support and concern, not negativity. Sean was simply trying to help me navigate an increasingly challenging situation with as much dignity as possible.

One conversation took place in November of 2022. Sean could see what was happening; the project was unraveling, and the signs of failure were becoming more apparent. But I was too blind to care at the time, too focused on pushing forward despite the mounting challenges. His perspective was clear and grounded, but I wasn’t ready to face the reality of the situation. Looking back now, it’s clear that Sean’s intentions were never to discourage me but to help me avoid the difficult place we find ourselves in today.
